Leland Johnson is the creator and host of the GoYeThere podcast. The podcast was created in response to a love for audio-media and an opportunity to fill a need that they found to supplement their and others growth as missionaries.
Leland and his wife Naomi along with their two children are church-planting independent Baptist missionaries serving in Brazil. While their plate is quite full with church ministry, helping other missionaries is a passion. Before going to the mission field, Leland spent 7 years as pastor of Berean Baptist Church, near Charlotte, North Carolina. Leland also has spent 7 years working in management and corporate training for Wells Fargo Bank. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Pastoral Ministries from Atlantic Baptist Bible College and holds Masters degree and is also in the process of earning a Doctoral degree.
“We are independent Baptists. It is what we know. We can not speak coherently to the needs of any other group. We are glad to have all kinds of missionaries as listeners to our podcast, and we hope that everyone finds the information encouraging. However, it is good to note that our guest pastors are independent Baptist and the missions boards representatives are from independent Baptist missions boards. We are not trying to be exclusive or unfriendly, but I believe that clarity is important. I would hate for one of our listeners to contact a pastor and become offended because they were not able to help them because they are from a different denomination. Clarity from the start can help to avoid offence!”
